One writer's experiment to tackle any subject his friends come up with.

Won't you help this tortured artist?

  1. To make myself beholden to others and therefore obligated to write (it’s a good thing, really!).
  2. To stretch my legs, creatively (physically: very little).
  3. To learn more about and encourage a dialog with friends that, although I’m grateful to facebook for the forum, can sometimes tend to blur into a haze of homogenized, remote entities for me (nothing personal, friend #157!).
  4. To get ripped to shreds!  I was not kidding about the ridicule in the public forum.  I want to know every weak spot.  Or that it’s all one big weak spot, like some over-ripe, bruised tomato, stashed in the pocket of a jeering theater patron.
  5. And that’s it!  All for the beauty of the craft.
  6. No, really!
  7. Okay, I’m also hoping this is a valid exercise in building one’s “platform”, or “readership” as I used to think it was called before attending that writer’s conference.  How else am I going to sucker my friends into reading my stuff?
